The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Evangelical Hospital Bethel (EvKB) offers an outpatient, day unit, and inpatient diagnostic, consultation and treatment for children and adolescents suffering from mental problems, behavioral disorders and developmental disorders resident in Bielefeld. We work in an interdisciplinary multiprofessional treatment team. At the moment, we offer an inpatient treatment for children and adolescents in an acute crisis at our acute ward, planned inpatient therapies at our youth ward as well as outpatient treatment for children and adolescents in our day unit. In the course of 2019, our clinic will provide the possibility to treat 27 inpatient and 16 outpatient patients. Additionally we offer a consultation-hour for outpatient treatment. Our broad treatment range covers all disorders occurring in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Moreover the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the EvKB is equipped with a research department to better understand mental disorders in children and adolescents and to help improve the treatment thereof.
As a scientific institution our clinic coordinates the European research project STIPED. This multicenter study examines the so-called transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as a new treatment method for children and adolescents suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
