Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel (EvKB) is one of the leading hospitals in the German region Ost-Westfalen and was granted the status of a University Hospital. The clinic provides the whole spectrum of medical care for all age groups and is responsible for Bielefeld city with about 350.000 inhabitants. In the fields of neurology, especially epileptology (MARA Epilepsy Center) and psychiatry, the EvKB has outstanding references also outside the region. In 2019, a new Clinic of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy has opened with Prof. Dr. M. Siniatchkin as Clinical Director, since then hosting the STIPED project as new coordination center. The EvKB provides a well-developed infrastructure for neurophysiological and clinical research (including access to an MRI unit in the MARA Epilepsy Center), an excellent IT infrastructure for data storage and analysis as well as connections to a broad network of external facilities for the recruitment of patients.
The Clinic of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the EvKB is a coordinator (PI: Prof. Dr. M. Siniatckin) of the STIPED consortium and a leader of WP1 (management of STIPED). Prof. Dr. M. Siniatckin will supervise all STIPED related activities. Additionally, the EvKB contributes to WP3, WP4, and WP5 (data collection and analysis). In WP3, Prof. Dr. M. Siniatckin is in charge of a phase II tDCS study in healthy children and adolescents. In WP4, Prof. Dr. M. Siniatckin coordinates a phase IIa home-based individualized randomized sham controlled tDCS study in patients with ADHD. Within WP3, WP4, and WP5, a standardized clinical assessment battery is under development. Moreover, the EvKB will contribute to patient recruitment and clinical and neurophysiological recordings associated with the work packages. Moreover, the EvKB supports WP7 during data analysis by contributing specialized algorithms for classification and network connectivity. Furthermore, the EvKB will contribute to WP10 (dissemination).
